Since meeting nearly 8 years ago, this will be Charlie and my first Christmas spent in our own home (rather than with his family in Arizona), and so like little baby turkeys who have been released from the nest, we will be getting our very first Christmas tree. And I use the term ‘Christmas Tree’ loosely because we are both really into the idea of a non-traditional sort and have come across some really cool ideas – here are a few of our favourites:
Via DesignSponge, this tree was created using yarn! Such a great idea for small spaces.
Wall decal by Mae
Via SweetPaul. Created using cupcake liners (mmm will have to make a batch of cupcakes first, of course!)
By West Elm

Via Design is Mine
This one is my absolute favourite. And I know that the removing of the beautiful little trinkets from the wall would keep my toddler busy for hours.
Will let you know which idea we go with (along with pictures of course)

I love all of these ideas! It solves the problem of only having one tree when in actual fact i’d love them in every room. I think the girls and I will be busy decorating the house with these ideas for inspiration. x x

Thanks mama X I am going to go with the one that is most toddler proof (cupcake liners seems like a good option as I can easily replace ones that have been chewed/ torn/ set on fire)! X

Where in AZ is your husband from? We have lots of family there (even my English husband–his two sisters live there now!). I love Christmas with just us. Love family, but there’s something nice about simplicity and loveliness of just being together…

@Lindsey Very excited to experience this too – much calmer I imagine! Hubby’s family are from Tucson.
